It was a splendid Saturday to play lacrosse for the Navigators.
 
First up, our JV squad made their debut at Home vs the Mashpee Falcons. Man did we have them on the fly! Sophomore Jenna Ellis led the offensive end with a hat trick and 4 additional shots on goal. Newcomer freshman Riley Niederberger put two in net for the Navs and it was smooth sailing for freshman Grace Pepe scoring once for the Navigators with 3 additional shots on goal. Attackers Bella Harrington (one shot on goal), Mariah JohnsonEmma Navarro (3 shots on goal), and Kitty Bova transitioned the ball to the offensive end and helped to make the magic happen down field.
 
On the defensive end Goalies Bri Sigel (4 saves in net) and Katelyn Coughlin (3 saves in net) put a stop to the Falcons offense with the help of Maggie RobertsKrysta Dolan, Anya Ghai, and Emily O'Brien.  It was an amazing first game for the JV and the final score was 6-2 Sturgis West!!! Thank you to all of the friends and family who came out to support the team!
 
Next we moved eastward as our Varsity squad faced the Monomoy Sharks at Monomoy. It was neck and neck at the beginning of the first half, with Captain Brigid Morrison leading the scoring drive with 4 goals and 2 assists. After a pep talk, the Navs tightened their sails and kicked it into high gear with Captain Sarah Walman scoring another 4 goals and taking 3 additional shots on goal. After playing a full soccer game in Connecticut, Captain Chloe the boss Bass ran onto the field towards the end of the first half and put 2 in net and had 3 assists. Danielle Dirty D Gavin also put 2 in net with 1 assist and 1 additional shot on goal. Following in her big sister's footsteps, Ciara Morrison made her debut for the Navigators and put 2 in net and had an additional shot on goal. Rachel Rapid Kilduff made key transitional plays throughout the game and put 1 in the net for the Navs with 1 additional shot on goal. Freshman Sophie cooked 'em Cook played great offense and defense at midfield and scored 1 goal for the Navs with 2 assists and 1 additional shot on goal.
 
On the defensive end, Grace pep in her step Pepe had an amazing 12 saves in net supported by Taylor T Time Vasta, Sarah Sgav Ginger Spice Gavin, Isabella Nina Sweenster Sweeney, Lily I'm not hurt Healy, and Sinead Salty Dolan who had 3 shots on goal and was responsible for several key turnovers. The defense worked hard with the offense to keep the Sharks out of our waters and they succeeded.  The final score was 16-5 Sturgis West!
