It was a beautiful afternoon to travel to Nantucket. 35 Players, 2 managers, 2 coaches and 2 chaperones made their way across calm waters to face the Whalers on their home turf.
 
The Varsity squad was up first with Captain Sarah Walman (2 goals, 2 shots on goal) taking the draw at center. The Whalers were quick to score three times within the first 7 minutes of the game, but then the Navigators took the helm. Captain Brigid Morrison (1 goal, 2 assists, 2 shots on goal) was the first to score for the Navigators. Captain Chloe Bass quickly followed suit scoring once for West with 2 additional shots on goal. Senior Rachel Kilduff put on in the net for the Navs with 2 additional shots on goal. Freshman Sophie Cook pushed into the 8 with 2 goals for West and 2 shots on goal and 1 assist. Freshman Ciara Morrison (2 assists) was a key player on the attack setting up plays and transitioning the ball into the critical shooting area. Senior Danielle Gavin also played a critical role working the ball behind net and feeding to our attackers. Sophomore Aradia Jacobson also made key plays on offense with one assist 
 
On the defensive end, Grace Pepe had an amazing day in goal. Grace had a record 15 saves in regular playing time and an additional 4 saves in overtime. Defensive Wings Sinead Dolan (1 shot on goal, 4 forced turn overs) and Lily Healy made key plays at midfield to contain the Whalers and put the ball back in our offensive end. Isabella Sweeney, Taylor Vasta, and Gabriella Boucher, worked non stop to keep the Whalers at bay, supported by Julianna Foresteire and Sarah Gavin
 
At halftime the game was tied 5 all. The Navigators came out in the second half and were quick to score making the game 6-5. The Whalers fought back shortly thereafter making it a tie game. The game went into two halves of sudden death overtime with Nantucket scoring on a direct shot with one minute left of overtime. The Final Score was 7-6 Nantucket. It was such an exciting game and the level of play was truly fantastic to watch. We can't wait for a rematch!!!
