Wowza! What an afternoon on the field in Mashpee...if you missed it, here's the replay. 
 
The Varsity took the field first and the game got off with a bang! Captain Sarah Walman (5 goals, 3 additional SOGs, 1 draw possession)  started at center and dominated the draw, pushing the ball to Rachel Kiduff (2 goals, 2 assists, 3 additional SOGs) for 8 possessions on the draw. Captain Chloe Bass (3 goals, 1 draw possession, 1 additional SOG) made key passes up field and played amazing defense throughout the game. Captain Brigid Morrison (2 goals, 1 assist, 3 additional SOGs) made key plays in the offensive end and the midfield. At one point the score was 4-0 West. Freshman Sophie Cook (2 SOGs, 1 assist, 1 draw possession)  played Center during the second half and made key plays in the midfield and critical shooting area.  By half-time, the score was 6-5 West. Liv Noonan (1 goal, 1 assist, 1 additional SOG) worked her way up field for her signature bullet in the high corner of the net. Freshman Ciara Morrison (2 SOGs) made key plays on transition, moving the ball up the field. Danielle Gavin made key plays on offense with 1 SOG. Aradia Jacobson and Sarah Gavin supported their team throughout the game! D.Wing Lily Healy (1 goal, 1 additional SOG) forced several turnovers and worked with Taylor Vasta and Sinead Dolan to keep the Falcons out of Navigator territory. 
 
On the defensive end, Grace Pepe played her first game since her injury and came out with a bang with 17 saves in net! Julianna Foresteire, Gabi Boucher, Kerry O'Brien, and Isabella Sweeney worked like a well oiled machine to keep the Falcons from soaring. 
 
In the end it was a matter of timing...with 42 seconds left in the game with a tie score, Mashpee gained possession on the draw. Mashpee scored with 13 seconds left on the clock making the final score 14-13 Mashpee. We are 5-4 C& I league and 5-5 overall. 
 
It was an amazing overall and the girls played their hearts out. I could not be more proud of this team! 
 
Speaking of amazing games...the JV squad took to the field and set out on a mission to clip the Falcons wings. 
 
The JV started out dominating on the draw with Emma Navarro playing at Center. The Navs dominated possession throughout the game and the attack was on the move. Captain Maddy Shaw led the drive (1 goal) and Bella Harrington (2 goals) and Jenna Ellis (2 goals) made some serious moves on the offensive end. Anya Ghai (1 goal) forced several turnovers for West and played amazing defense throughout the game.  Mariah Johnson (1 goal) forced a turnover on the defensive end and took the ball to net! Krysta Dolan (1 goal) made moves on offense and defense, keeping the Falcons on the ground. Maddy Strick (1 goal) played great defense and offense at midfield and used her speed to her advantage. Brenna Colvin also made key plays in the critical shooting area, opening opportunities for her teammates. 
 
Katelyn Coughlin played a great first half in net (3 saves) and Bri Sigel also had an amazing performance in the second half (8 saves). Mackenzie Yuska, Riley Niederberger, Kitty Bova, Maggie Roberts, and Alyssa McLean all made great contributions on the defensive end.  At halftime the score was 6-1. The Falcons fought back in the second half and were able to slow our offense but they were unable to score on Brick Wall Bri. The Final score was 9-1 West!
